groovin'.

*when i was in college, i sang in an a capella group called, "groove." one of our songs was a medley of all these songs that had the word "groove" in them, my favorite of which was madonna's "get into the groove." as soon as i typed the title of this post, i started humming it. will you sing along with me as you read? :)

two weeks ago, i was seriously whining about the end of summer.

and now, here we are, the first week back to work!

and you know what? i'm loving being back in the groove. :)

i knew i would. (but sometimes, it's fun to whine, no?)

getting up early is going to take some getting used to, for sure.

but, i've always loved the start of a new school year. i usually hate change, but this is one change i embrace and welcome each september. i love starting with a new crop of kiddos, getting to know them and their families, and slowly building our unique community as a new class. plus, i kinda work in the best school with the best staff in the whole world. true story.

this year, things will be a little different with my new position, but i am excited nonetheless.

you know what else is exciting? buying school supplies!!! i'm off to t*rget to buy some sh*rpie pens! (have you tried them? they're awesome!)

*i'm also off to go dust off my "immaculate collection" album!

  1. Glad you are enjoying getting your groove on again. Oh...office/school supplies? I'm a total addict. I get butterflies in my tummy when I see them out at Target each summer/fall (in a good way). I love markers, pens, staple removers, tape, etc... My co-workers tease me about it...one of my inner-geek things!

Good luck with your new position! Sounds to me like the little ones are sure lucky to have you as their teacher. And Sharpie now has pens?!!! Who knew?!!

  9. I love school supplies! It's so nice to buy them for my son now that I'm not teaching anymore! You're right - we're at FCPS - Spanish was actually my first choice but he got into German and we're just excited that he's going to learn a new language (and that he's excited!). ;) Praying Choi Boy home!

  11. I wish I was going back to school - I also love buying school supplies. I am also really looking forward to getting back into a routine. Hubby goes back to work tomorrow and Alex starts back at the sitters. And the crock pot comes out of hiding.
