we are three.

we have officially been parents for 3 hours now, and it feels great! choi boy was wonderful during the handoff and enjoyed the car ride back to my aunt's house. luckily, we had the apartment to ourselves for the first 2 hours, so it was nice easing into things with just the three of us.

so far, things have been going better than expected. we got lots of smiles and laughter and even some dancing out of choi boy. he is so curious and especially interested in my aunt and uncle's two dachshunds, which bodes well for choi boy's first meeting with the pipe! choi boy also loves the mini piper we sent over in his birthday package -- it's his lovey, and for some reason, that makes my heart burst with love and happiness. :)

choi boy is napping now -- this was when we saw tears and some grieving for his foster mom, but that was expected and almost good to see since we knew it was a healthy sign. we'll try and update more later, but for now, here are some videos -- my videography skills are totally subpar, but i figured you wouldn't mind ;)...

  2. Congratulations! How wonderful! I'm glad it's all going well to start off! I recognize that sleeping pattern. Nothing sweeter, but it does get tiring having a little one collapsed on you like that. You learn to read upside down. :) Enjoy!

  25. Are you sure you've only been a family of three for three hours here?! Geez, it looks like it's been much longer than that! Obviously meant to be together. I love how he's sleeping on you there... and how adorable all three of you are in the first video! OK, this totally made my week. Happy FOREVER FAMILY!

PS - Love hearing the dachsies in the background (I grew up with them) LOVE that C is so dog friendly AND that he loves his piper stuffie. That makes me giddy with glee (and seriously considering a train ride down for a photo shoot of both of them!)

PPS - C's transition sounds very similar to S's. We saw the grieving at bedtime, wake-up and sometimes during teething. He was way too busy checking things out during the awake times to seriously grieve. Although we did see melancholy moments... I hope your initial transition is as easy as ours was!

PPS - GAAAAUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!! There are THREE CHOIS now!!!
