it's been an amazing week and we are sad to leave, but anxious and excited to go home with our little boy in tow.
because choi boy came to us earlier than expected, we didn't get to do as much as we had hoped -- but, uh, who's complaining when we've had this little face to look at for the last three days?!
we did meet up with some friends, which was so wonderful, but unfortunately, we missed out on seeing a dear friend with whom we were sharing much of this journey...and we missed each other twice! :( more on that to come in some recaps that i'll get to...eventually.
though there is so much more we would have loved to do and see, we know we'll be back. :)
for now, i'm going to selfishly ask for many, many prayers and positive thoughts. the flight home has been one of my major worries since day one. day one as in june 2009. ;) but in all seriousness, i'm really worried about how choi boy will be on the plane. as we've learned over the weekend, he is constantly on the move, and i can already tell he's not going to be too keen on being confined to our seats or even the aisles. we're bringing two carry-ons full of snacks and toys to
many prayers are also needed for the hubs who has contracted a nasty stomach bug here and has been battling some serious yuckiness as well as a fever that spiked to 103 today. he has been cleared to travel tomorrow, so we are praying that he will recover and get some good rest before we leave.
we'll be leaving seoul at 10:15 tomorrow (monday) morning (seoul time -- 8:15 pm, sunday night, eastern time) and arriving stateside at 9:30 monday morning -- how trippy is that?! it's like we're going back time! we would be so very grateful for your prayers during that time!
can't wait to get home! see you there! ;)
Praying that C sleeps on the flight! And praying for your hubby - that sounds terrible :( See you stateside as you begin your new life as a family of THREE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHoping your trip back goes as smoothly as possible!! ♥
ReplyDeleteHi Peter and Grace. I am Esther's friend from college and was very happy and moved to hear about your journey to adopt your beautiful son from Korea. Congratulations! I have made the trip between Korea and the East Coast many times with infants/toddlers and i wanted to let you know it's really not that bad. On those big planes there is plenty of room to walk around and if your son is restless you should not hesitate to walk him up and down the aisles. My daughters also liked being in the kitchen since the lights are always on and there is always something to see. So remember, move around, and he WILL eventually fall asleep. The trip will be hardest for you, he will probably enjoy it! Try to stay relaxed and have a safe flight! Im looking forward to following your story as you continue to adapt. All my best, Charmaine
ReplyDeleteI hope the flight goes really well for all of you! I feel so horrible for Peter! I hope he gets better very soon. See you tomorrow morning!
ReplyDeleteAll the best on your flight. Hang in there and keep telling yourself "we're almost there." It'll work, right?
ReplyDeleteHope Peter feels better. I can't imagine sitting on that flight and feeling icky :(
I'm sure you'll be glad to set foot in your home as a family of three. Good luck!!!
No problem on being selfish there. We asked our friends to pray for an empty seat next to us... and we had one! I hope all goes well!
ReplyDeletethinking of you guys and sending prayers!!!!
ReplyDeletePoor Peter! Definitely sending up prayers for your family during the flight. It is just one of those things that you have to live through and then you have your story! But hopefully it won't be too bad.

ReplyDeleteGrace, Peter and Choi Boy,
ReplyDeleteWe will definitely keep you three in our thoughts and prayers. We, too, had a little guy that was on. the. move. Including on the plane...the kitchen (yep...made ourselves right at home!) and flight attendants became our friends. You can do it!
Can't wait fro you to experience the return home to your family and friends. For me, that was the best part of our journey!
Safe and healthy travels, friend!

ReplyDeleteHoping & praying your flight will be easy, but even if there's some difficulties, keep reminding yourself the flight will end and then you will be home.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels to all 3 of you. I hope Peter is feeling better now that you are set to go. (My DH was sick on the way there...fever, etc...no fun!) I hope your bags of fun & food entertain Choi Boy...and I hope he sleeps. Get the Ergo or baby carrier ready...we walked & walked & walked with D in there. Keeping you in my prayers.
