pick a card, any card.

i love christmas cards. love them. for the last few years, i've loved receiving photo cards and seeing how everyone's family has changed through the year. and i've also wistfully longed to send photo cards of our own -- we actually did the first 2 years of our marriage and then stopped because we felt weird sending out a photocard of just the two of us when everyone else's cards featured their adorable kiddos.

well, i am thrilled that it's our turn now! yay! i've been eyeing some goodies over at shutterfly for a while now, thinking about the adorable picture of choi boy that will grace our cards this year. :)

i can't decide whether to choose one of their christmas cards, like this one:

or to go with one of their christmas birth annoucement cards (reworded for our adoption, obvs) like this one:

aren't they gorgeous? simple and lovely.

and, if i want to share some choi boy yumminess all year round, i could also make a shutterfly calendar! wouldn't that be a great gift for grandparents?

i can't wait to have my very own choi boy photo shoot! and, don't worry, there will be no barrettes or girly clothes in the pictures i take of him. :)

in full disclosure, i'm blogging about this because shutterfly is giving away 50 free cards to bloggers for posting about their card line. (though i totally would have gotten cards from them anyway!) and in full disclosure, you can get the hook-up, too! check it out!

  1. Ha! Love the disclosure. And I think either card would be so lovely. :)

  2. Oh, I'm a little in love with #2. So sweet.

P.S. I think you should come over and comment on my blog so you can win a gift cert from Baby Bella and pick out something sweet for your little Choi Boy. Just sayin. :)

  3. Go with the announcement. That is what we are doing this year. : )

  4. I love the Christmas Announcement! So cute! We also do photo calendars for the grandparents every year and they are always a big hit! :)

  5. I wonder if they ship to Canada! They are gorgeous cards!

  6. I love the announcements!! So excited for you :)

  7. Last year the Christmas card we sent also served as our adoption announcement. Mostly everyone knew anyway, but we figured to celebrate both things.

This was our card last year:

I've been drooling over this year's cards too. I haven't ordered yet, but plan to soon. Wonder how long the 50-free-cards lasts? We send out nearly 150 to score some free ones would be wonderful. Hmmmm...

I love them both...but always lean towards one that can feature more than one photo.

And...nothing at ALL wrong about sending out your card as a couple. I sent out a photo/letter thing for 13 years before Little D joined our ranks (featuring our year in review...usually from a cool trip)...and always received rave reviews from family/friends. :-)

  8. we just ordered some cards online too! first time we've done it. next time i might try shutterfly though, looks like it has more options. tho not sure about cost of shipping all the way here... i like the second card- the announcement! but the first one is cool too haha... sorry not great help. fun though!

  9. We just got our announcements and Christmas cards in the mail this week...we are mailing them out in the same envelope (yay for only paying for postage once!).

  10. i feel the same way getting the cards but always feel silly sending out pictures of just us. i can't wait to see which ones you pick...i have been looking at tiny prints their designs.

  11. I don't think you can go wrong! Can you?!

  12. Oh I love them both, but especially the one with the W on it. :-)

  13. love them both. and i love x-mas cards too. Glenn and i have done a few wacky ones in the past. I need to do a post before x-mas and share some of them. warning.....we are weirdos!!! :)

why, hello there! do you have something to say? 'cause i'd so love to hear it!
