rainy day fun!

on with the chicago recaps!

nasty midwest thunderstorms spoiled our plans for the botanical gardens and the park, but my resourceful friends came up with some great indoor play ideas for our littles.

on wednesday, we met up with grace and cori and their kiddos, minus joel and seth. we had lots of fun playing in one of the coolest mall play structures i've ever seen. of course, i didn't get any pictures of it, but trust me, that treehouse was way cool. although, choi boy thought opening the door to the play area and running away was a way more fun game. me? notsomuch.

anyway, we had a grand ol' time chatting and catching up and tried to get some pictures of the kids before we said our goodbyes. and...of course, they turned out hilariously subpar.

oh, yes, that would my cb standing up on the bench and then eating a sandwich and not paying attention. and did you see his face in that second shot? bahahaha!

sweet, sweet evan was very interested in taking pictures and wanted me to snap a few shots of him.
Photobucket
of course, i happily obliged -- who wouldn't want to take pictures of this cute face??

the next day, we met up with beth and her cuties, sam and lily. we went to an awesome play cafe and the kids had a total blast.

and what do you think choi boy was most interested in?

did you guess finding every ball in the play area?
Photobucket
because then you'd be correct.

at one point, he knocked down the basket holding the balls and just climbed in.

he found the perfect ball and then went over to shoot some hoops...

check out that form!

for the most part, beth and i were so busy gabbing and laughing that i didn't get many shots of the kiddos playing, aside from that ball montage. but, i did manage to capture this hug between cb and sam.

i don't think cb could help himself because ohmygoodness, look at this cutie:
Photobucket
is he not adorable?! i just love his glasses...eek!

we tried to get some shots of the kids together.
Photobucket
why do i even try?! and believe it or not, that pained look on sam's face is actually him saying, "cheese!"

Photobucket
and there's cb's "cheese!" ;)

lily joined in on the fun...i can't choose which crazy face is the craziest. :)
Photobucket
and why does my son always have food in his hand during group shots? he is *so* my child.

and of course, i embarassed us and asked another lady to snap a picture of me and beth.
Photobucket
you guys, beth is hilarious and needs to start her own blog. who wants to join in on peer pressuring her?! c'mon, beth...you know you want to! ;)

and yet again, we are so grateful for the new friends blogging has brought us! yay! thanks for hanging out with us, ladies!

  1. Love all the shots with kids I recognize! Before you even said it, I was thinking CB is eating in all these photos - hilarious :) Sam in glasses may be the cutest thing ever, and I've told Beth the same thing about starting a blog!!!

  4. This post, the pics, and your commentary have me totally cracking up. First, I TOTALLY noticed the look on CB's face in the 2nd shot (even before you mentioned it) and I was TOTALLY going to ask about CB's always-present sandwich in all group shots. Hilarious!!

  5. I giggled my way through this post. I too noticed the expression in shot two and almost guffawed. Awesome... just awesome. I loved seeing all these kiddos make an appearance on your blog... and I love that you made this a marathon of bloggie friends during your stay... and I loved seeing you and Beth together. Speaking of, she TOTALLY needs to start her own blog!!!

  6. As a blog stalker, it was so great to meet you IRL! Carson is even more adorable in real life, if that's even possible. As for blogging, I will leave that up to all of you talented, witty writers and great photographers. In the meantime, I will practice getting my kids to smile.
