today, this little man is officially twenty months old!
that's right, folks, my baby is now one and two thirds years old. ;)
(even though he looks like an 18 year-old frat boy in some of these pictures! yeesh!)
to mark this milestone, here are 20 little tidbits about choi boy, presented to you in four lists. because lists mean i don't need to write as much. :)
5 things choi boy can't get enough of:
1. food.
carbs, fruit, meat, cheese, and yogurt, specifically.
2. balls. of all shapes and sizes. he does not discriminate. oh, and anything that looks like a ball, is a ball.
3. going outside. choi boy likes to bang on the doors and windows and shout "at-dye! at-dye!" {that's "outside," for those of you that are not fluent in choi boy-ese} at us several times a day.
4. being on the move! he thinks it's awesome to be outside or out of the house and be free of the stroller. he shows us his delight by running everywhere and daring us to catch him. :)
5. getting down and dirty and exploring with his hands.
the funny thing is, he doesn't like his hands actually being dirty, so while playing and exploring, he'll stop to wipe his hands on his pants or whatever adult is standing nearby. it's lots of fun. ;)
5 things choi boy is working on:
1. NOT throwing everything in sight. i swear, i'm not being biased when i say this, but choi boy has a really good arm. for a not-yet-two-year-old, he can throw things to impressive distances with great strength. but, it is NOT fun when he's throwing things like food, cell phones, utencils, shoes...you get the picture. we're trying to stress *only* throwing balls and *only* throwing them outside, but man, is it hard trying to explain to and reason with a 20-month old!!
2. talking. choi boy has lots and lots of words under his belt, but he is working on putting them together. so far, we've heard one 2-word sentence: "umma, ahyah!" translation: "mommy, ouch!" apparently, i could have been more gentle when putting on cb's hightops.;)
3. being a little less of an evel kenevel. this boy is a serious daredevil and just a minute ago, the hubs had to stop him from jumping off the window ledge. on one hand, we love that he is so fearless, but on the other hand, he is going to make us go prematurely grey!
{contemplating his next stunt}
4. having fun at daycare. cb still cries a little at drop off, but he is learning to let loose and really have fun while he's there. our childcare provider said he is laughing a lot and really enjoying playing with his little buddies. :)
5. jumping. he wants so badly to jump, but since it's really hard for him to lift his body off the ground, he settles for jumping *off* things (see number 3).
5 things choi boy is NOT a fan of:
1. getting his face wiped. it's hysterical how much he screams when we wipe his face after a meal!
2. being told "no." ;)
3. wearing socks.
4. milk from anything but a bottle.
5. big, costumed characters -- he pretty much freaked out upon meeting the chick-fil-a cow. we may have to hold off on disney*world for a bit. ;)
5 things i love about choi boy:
1. his sweet little voice. it's so high-pitched and darling. if it's still like that when he's 10, he'll probably hate it, but for right now, it's so cute!
2. his shy, proud smile.
3. his love for his big sis, piper.
4. the way he loves his family and friends. the look of sheer joy on his face when he sees one of his favorite people is just priceless!
5. that he's here and he's our son. i couldn't have asked for a more perfect addition to our family.
even when there are lots of moments during the day that look like this.
;)
love you, son...happy 20 months!

ReplyDeleteand mom always says, "don't play ball in the house!"
Love that last picture!!
ReplyDeleteHa! LOVE the last photo.
ReplyDeleteHappy 20 months, CB. :)
Also, we need video of that sweet little voice. Love that he's getting to the point of having fun @ day care.
So many great tidbits in here! And holy cow, I think choi boy and Spencer have some serious similarities! Forget Disney, i want to know about sesame place.... ;)
ReplyDeleteWhile i love all the pics... That last one is priceless... And one i can completely relate too. :)
Oh, and happy 2-0 choi boy!!! (duh)
ReplyDeletehappy 20 months little buddy! love that last photo and so enjoyed all the little tidbits too. :)
ReplyDeletethe last picture cracks me up!! he-he! happy 20 months cb!! love his little outfit!
ReplyDeleteHello! I've been MIA for what seems like FOREVER! Anyway, I can't believe how grown up and handsome Choi boy is. He's so adorable! I can relate to several of the above items...throwing things....exploring with the hands; thank goodness it's more of this and less of the exploring with the mouth thing. That was driving me CRAAAAZY!
ReplyDeleteHappy 20 months, CB! Tell mom to take it easy on those high tops :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a great post to "get to know" CB!! Anna could "ditto" almost all of this list (particularly SOCKS and dare devil antics!).
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun kid! He does look older in that outfit, but so cute. Happy 20 months to CB!! That last picture is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love his little preppy outfit. Those jeans and the Chucks are awesome. Dressing boys can be a lot of fun, even though I still sometimes salivate over the girls' section of kids' clothing stores! CB is pure BOY! I know from firsthand experience! It's so much fun but so exhausting, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteI know I comment all of the time on this kid's eyes, but they are beau-tiful! And those dimples! Then, you add a super-cute outfit and some cute faces on top of that...and you have one. cute. kiddo.
ReplyDeleteAdorable.
cb, you are one awesomely intense little man with so much passion! I love reading about everything that he's up to. Benny and he are definitely alike in some ways, especially with their love of balls and throwing them, wanting to jump but not being able to get off the ground and his hatred of having his face wiped. Adam was also petrified of large stuffed characters last summer at just over 2 years old. He has gotten better with them, but I don't blame him since I think they're kind of freaky, too.
ReplyDeleteomg... that last picture is awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet update! I loved learning all about Choi-boy. Sounds like he's doing great!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I've been trying to comment for days! Stupid blogger. Anyway, what I was trying to say (if I remember correctly) is that it's funny how similar CB and Max are. So many things they share in common! (good and bad :) But mostly I wanted to say that these photos rock and I really love his little oxford shirt, stylin' jeans and those sweet kicks. What a little rock star.
ReplyDeleteHappy 20 months to CB! I loved reading all the lists and little CB tidbits. I totally want D to have some of those sweet kicks (in red!!)...I've wanted him to have them since he first came home (well, since he started walking anyway)...but D has "wide" feet and I suspect he'd be telling me "umma, ahyah!" all day long. I think CB & Little D have a lot in common...especially the feeling of torture at having one's face wiped, being told "no", playing outside, having a cute/shy smile/smirk, daredevil-ness, and the pure happiness at seeing loved ones (especially grandparents -- oh my!).
ReplyDeleteFour VERY sweet lists for one VERY sweet boy! I love his voice too, and he's so stylin'. Hope if you make it to MKE this summer we can let CB and LM hang out!
