teamwork.

lately, choi boy has taken a big interest in self-feeding. he's actually gotten pretty good at getting things on his spoon and stabbing small pieces of food with his fork. usually, whatever's on his fork or spoon will make it into his mouth, even if it might take more than one try. the hardest thing is the coordination of knowing when to open and close his little mouth! ;) sometimes, he'll drop the utencils and just start using his hands again because it's faster and our boy LOVES to eat.

of course, with self-feeding comes a big mess to clean up afterwards.

cb: c'mon, umma, it's not *that* bad!

um, choi boy, you might help with the laundry, but you don't do it all yet. and you're not the one contending with sticky rice stuck all over your clothes! (do you spy the piece of white kimchi in choi boy's hand? my mom made a whole vat of it just for him!)

we try and get as much of the didn't-make-it-into-choi-boy's-mouth food off of his clothing and booster seat before he leaves the table, but sometimes, it's tricky when you're dealing with tiny bits of food here and there.

that's when we call in the big guns.

and let me tell you, big sister piper takes her job very seriously.

very seriously.

our kiddos work very well together in their effort to clean up. i think the understanding is that cb fishes for any leftovers in his bib pocket and piper has dibs on anything else. quite a deal, if you ask me!

p.s. that AWESOME bib? courtesy of the awesome christy. love it!

  1. I don't know how people who don't own dogs stay on top of their kids' food messes. Seriously!!!

  2. That happens here, too. It's great! And I love that your mom made white kimchi for Choi Boy. How sweet!

  3. Oh man, choi boy has the *best* expressions! I think you'll be seeing a lot of the "c'mon umma" look during the teen years. :-)

And, I'm jealous. Roxy doesn't do this... she's too "good" for Spencer's messes. It annoys me to no end.

  4. Wow! What great teamwork...I wish my old dog would do that...instead he jumped on Joel and snatched food out of his hand.

  6. Brian always tells me he wants to rent a dog for half an hour after dinner each night, especially when we had toddlers!

Piper is adorable with CB! So sweet the way they work together. Glad you like the bib! ;)

  11. Posie may catch mice, but she's lousy for a mess. Go Piper!

Way to go Choi Boy on the self-feeding...that sticky rice is no match for you!

And Piper...you are adorable. Have you gained weight since Choi Boy came home?

    Happy Weekend Choi fam!

  14. There's something very fulfilling about watching your baby eat and enjoy his food! It's a good-mom feeling :)

  15. Awww...cute that Piper is already helping out. Good doggie. (D makes me WANT a dog for this reason!) and GO CB...feeding yourself is such a big deal. His own vat of kimchee? I'm jealous. I need to meet your mom and do some major sucking up to get some homemaid kimchee. Hmmmm.
