ahem. please indulge me for a moment (47 seconds, actually) as you watch my child "read":
how stinkin' cute are those little "neh"s?! and please excuse the jingling in the background...that's piper pawing at her bells on the front door to tell us to let her out. and we did, as soon as choi boy was finished reading. clearly, we were occupied until then. ;)
by the way, i in no way endorse the "y0ur baby c@n read" program. i think it's weird and creepy and as a reading teacher, i find it very developmentally inappropriate. after all, reading is meaning-making, and though the babies on the infommercial might be able to recognize the words on the flashcards, i highly doubt they can fully comprehend the stories they're "reading". really, it's just glorified word calling. okay, getting off my soapbox now. ;)
oh, and one more thing...
yay, packers! am i crazy to think that choi boy was the packers' post season good luck charm? i mean, he came home, and since then the boys in green and gold have won every single game, championship and all...just sayin' :)
regardless of cb's good luck charm status, it is pretty awesome to have your team win your first stateside superbowl, eh? not that choi boy had any say in who his team was...check out the awesome shirt grandma and grandpa brought choi boy when they were here last week:
it says: i never had the choice but to be a packers fan
is that truth or what?

love that sweet video!! how awesome is it that piper hits the bells when she needs to go out. arden will sit in front of me and stare at me until i say "do you need to go?". lol. uh..i totally have to agree. i think carson was a good luck charm for sure!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I must congrat u on your packers!!! Second, that just might be the cutest "neh" I've ever heard. Ever! What a smart lil' pumpkin you have!
ReplyDeleteYeah...there's spot! We love that book too. CB is so darn cute 'reading' or wearing his very appropriate packer shirt :)
ReplyDeleteCB! I love him! We need to do a playdate again, soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd woohoo Packers! I was really excited for Peter. :)
love it! And I'm so glad this video had nothing to do with those creepy videos. I was worried you were a tiger mom!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOK, how cute is he?! I'm almost a little sad when he says "neh" because it requires him removing his two fingers from his mouth. So stinking cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that Piper rings her bell. Roxy just whines annoyingly at me.
Lastly, I love that shirt. LOVE. IT.
Oh my goodness how cute! Thanks for posting up!
ReplyDeleteAdorable!!! I love it! He's making his RR mama proud. I'm sure he'll be reading chapter books before you know it. :) I wonder how long I'm going to be able to last before I bust out my RR materials on the boys... Do you think a 3 year old can do the OS? Ha!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Does that mean our little one can be a Giants good luck charm... ;) Hoping he(she)'s home before football season!
ReplyDeleteCute video - but I'm completely with you on Your Baby Can Read. Bleh.
Ummm...how cute are Choi Boy's fingers in his mouth? And the "nehs"...I love his little voice!
ReplyDeleteAnd the Pack....yahoo! I just told Nick last night that I thought Evan was their good luck, first SB in the states and the Pack take it. Okay, maybe it is the combo of Choi Boy and Evan being in the U.S.? I think so...
Ha! You are such a primary teacher . . . we all laugh when we see that commercial for babies reading flashcards! My coworkers and I have had long discussions on how this company is fleecing decent people who want their kids to excel, it is just simple decoding and NO transfer of knowledge in text. Boo.
ReplyDeleteLove how CB is reading! :) It is amazing to see them put things together and celebrate every little success in making him a reader!
LOVE this video and I also find the "my b*by can read" program weird and creepy!
ReplyDeletetoo too cute! He has such a wonderful personality!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie! That video is priceless. And a grudging congrats to your Superbowl win:).
ReplyDeleteJohn is a Bears fan so had the Bear won the NFC Championship game, Eli's name was going to be changed to Caleb Heine...now I know why the Bears lost. Green Bay had a good luck charm!
ReplyDeleteOh I love how intently CB is following along with the story. I don`t think Daniel was that focused at his age. My fave part of the video is CB`s `Mahnseh` at the end. Daniel loves saying `Mahnseh`!
ReplyDeleteOf course Choi Boy was the good luck charm!! And his reading is AWESOME!! And I love that Piper is bell trained. Our guy is too, and he's taken to ringing the bells when he wants us to do other things as well, like feed him, or let the kitty out of the room if she got stuck inside. So sweet. And confusing. But mostly sweet.
ReplyDeleteSo so cute! But watch out for those books where you lift up the flaps. After raising 3 boys, we were left with tons of those books that originally had the flaps that the boys all ripped off. Somehow, they each had a "thing" for ripping off whatever flaps they could get their hands on. Just remember that as he gets a little older and can play on his own for small spurts of time, that him being quiet = TROUBLE!
ReplyDeletelove the shirt! and that video is so sweet. sage is a bell ringer too. sometimes i swear she is whacking it with her paw she hits it so hard. i guess that's what happens when we ignore the first 15 hits!
ReplyDeleteThis video is just A-DORABLE! His little voice is the cutest! Oh and I thought it was interesting what you had to say about toddlers "reading" because I've seen those infomercials and thought the whole concept was very strange so it's good to hear what an expert has to say about that whole thing :)
