jumping on the bandwagon...

so, i got a new toy. it starts with an i and ends with a phone. and i have no idea how to use it. i mean *really* use it. like doing things other than snapping pics of the adorable cb. :)

Photobucket

my sister is one of those people that loves to read manuals from cover to cover and learn how a device really works and what it's capable of (sorry to call you out of the nerd closet, tiff...hee). me? not so much. i still haven't really figured out how to use all the functions on my dslr. and i've had it for four years.

care to help a girl out? do you know how to use an i*phone? i mean *really* use one? do you have any helpful tips or apps you love that you'd be willing to tell me about? i'd SO appreciate any help!

pretty please?

merci beaucoup, techie peeps!

and don't forget, it's your last chance to enter my blog-iversary giveaway!

  2. I can't help you out either! Sorry. :( But an iphone is definitely on my wish list! My hubby got one last year, and I said I wouldn't end up wanting one. Well, guess what? I do! Good luck!

  4. I never thought I needed an iphone but since mine took a bath I'm so lost and feel like I've lost a part of me. I know pathetic! I've not had a cell phone in 3 weeks. It is far far away in the land of Texas to be fixed, I use mine as a camera, for video, alarm clock, fashlight, internet and so much more. As soon I get my phone back I'll give you some apps. I just can't remember them. I think I googled best kids apps and I found a lot. Wait I remember one. Peek a boo barn. I got the free version but Matthew loves it!

  5. Omg! Love the iPhone.
Apps: Facebook, fluent news, words with friends, pandora, amazon, groupon (last 2 are dangerous bc it's one touch ordering...instant gratification); netflix (if u have a membership!), fertility menstrual calendar if u care to track ur periods.

FaceTime ur hubbu in the house If he's upstairs and ur downstairs.

Manual is actually quite simple and lists only a few of the main need to know features so fear not.

Double click the home button to see most recent apps.
Press home and top power button quickly to take screen shot. Pic saved to photos.
Take lots of pics and videos to post on ur blog. (I don't do this well)
I have a shortcut to my blogger dashboard on my home page. On blogger dashboard; To scroll through ur posts use 2 fingers to move up. I have yet to find a better app for blogspot blogging and reading.

    Happy iphoning!!!

  9. I use mine to surf the internet, check email, take pics, and listen to Pandora. That's it. Oh wait, I do use the bathroom app to find the closest bathroom.

  12. I can't help you because I havea droid. If I had an iphone, though, I'd totally download the scrabble app and play through facebook friends. which would mean I'd never get anything else done, so probably a good plan for now :) enjoy your phone!

  13. I just got an iPhone two weeks ago and love it. My hubby is very good at tech stuff and has had one for over two years. He recommended I get skype, pandora, simple note, instagram, you version bible app, and of course all the built in apps. I also like howl a lot, but my hubby wrote it so I'm biased. ;)

  14. I've had an iphone for years (started with the original version and now I have the iphone 4) - couldn't live without it! Definitely check out the following apps - FB, pandora, reeder (for blogs), scrabble, urban spoon, yelp, shazam, hipstamatic, bing, skype. There are also a bunch of kids apps but you might not want to go there ... quite yet :)

  16. Those are great suggestions from Kelly and Krista. I really don't have any to add since I am using some of those already listed apps, but not all of them. I LOVE my iPhone 4. I had an iTouch before, but it's so awesome to have portability. I bought mine when I went back to work and needed to have a good phone since I'm on the road for a bit of time on my commute. Enjoy!!
