452.

null

452.

it seems like a random number.

null
and in many ways, it is.

but, 452 represents a number that signifies a huge milestone in our lives.

null

a milestone that many adoptive parents keep tucked away in the back of their minds. one that isn't as easily calculated or remembered as a referral day or a family day, but one that, in many ways, is just as important.

you see, 452 days ago, choi boy was placed in our arms, and we offically walked off together as a family of three.

and 451 days before that, cb was placed in the arms of his very loving and incredibly special foster mother.

which means,
null

cb has now been with us longer than he has lived with anyone else.

null
it's true. :)

and while part of us was surprised that we hadn't already met this milestone (because it feels like we've been together for just about forever), it made us recognize even more clearly the sacrifice of cb's foster mother. we are so grateful for the amazing care and love she gave cb during those 451 days and we are grateful for the love she has for him still.

and as we move on to days 453 and beyond, we continue to revel in the fact that we are a family and that we will always be a family.

from tender moments,
Photobucket

to silly ones,
Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App
and all those in between.

:)

null
so grateful.

null
and so joyful.

  2. I recently began reading your blogs, and it's definitely your photos, as well all your personality that you put into this that make your blog so intriguing! I just found out that I won't get the Korea EP submission until 2013! But meantime, your blogs have inspired me to start my own little private journal that I hope to one day show my little one. Thank you and congratulations to your family!

    1. She does a great job of documenting the hard moments too, so look back through the archives for some great words of honesty and understanding! :) :)

    2. thanks so much for your kind words! i am so sorry to hear that you won't get EP until next year for your little one...big hugs...hang in there! i know how hard the waiting is and if you ever need/want to chat, feel free to email...when you're in the thick of the wait it's hard to imagine its end, but you'll get there with your little one in your arms. :)

  7. one of my favorite milestones. when you really think about how long their foster families took care of them, it's almost more than we can handle. it will be awhile before we meet this milestone with tjs - which is so hard to believe. congratulations to your beautiful family!!!

  8. Congratulations on this very, very special milestone. I remember it well myself and we were also so surprised it took as long as it did. You are right - this makes our boys' foster families that much more amazing when you think about it. Beautiful, beautiful photos, Grace.
