my sister informed me that i need to get off my lazy blogger butt and start posting about cb's birthday celebrations. in my defense, i've been sick (nasty kindergarten germs!) and the start of school is just a wee bit busy. ;) but, choi boy deserves to have his birthday relived and documented, so here we go! i uploaded all the pics i wanted to post and there ended up being over 80 of them.(!) so, i'm going to be *that* crazy momma and break up the birthday posts into 2 posts. or 3 or 4. ;)
i forgot to mention that in the midst of the whirlwind two weeks ago, we were experiencing some historic rainfall and major flooding. it rained for 8 days straight for a total of almost 10 inches of rain -- we were seriously thinking about building an ark. it was so bad that school was cancelled that friday...major roadways, we're talking huge interstates, were closed down and it was actually a bit frightening. while i was driving home on thursday, there were literally waterfalls coming off the jersey walls on the highway -- crazy!!
but, despite the crazy weather, having friday off allowed me to spend the *whole* day with my sweet birthday boy. there really is a silver lining to every cloud. ;)
we started the morning with some special birthday breakfast:
cinnamon raisin toast with peanut butter and a blueberry smiley!
choi boy was a little skeptical.
(those shifty eyes *crack* me up!!!)
but, being the little piggy he is, he ate it anyway.
we spent the morning with cb's beloved kate and had lunch with hahmee and hahbee. we made him tell everyone how old he was...to which he happily replied, "twooooooooo!"
mostly, we just spent some quality time together watching our newly turned two year-old laugh and play and have fun.
we had one of cb's favorite meals for dinner -- bulgogi and broccoli with lots of bap:
on a pororo plate, no less!
and for dessert, cb enjoyed a very special treat of TWO of umma's chocolate chip cookies.
he was a little in disbelief at his good fortune. :)
and to end the day, after bathtime, cb's eemos came over to shower him with gifts (before umma made them slave away in preparation for the big party the next day...)!
so much fun!
cb loved his presents,
and his momma did, too.
:)
we loved having cb's actual birthday all to ourselves...what a treat to celebrate our little one!
...and lots more birthday party tidbits to come! :)
